Participant Eligibility Criteria
To ensure a positive and productive experience for all attendees, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration.
- Language Proficiency: A strong command of the English language is required to follow instructions, participate in discussions, and engage with written materials.
- Focus and Participation: Participants must demonstrate the ability to stay focused, follow directions, and actively engage throughout the duration of the workshop.
- Respectful Conduct: A commitment to respectful and collaborative behavior is essential to maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Physical & Mental Readiness: Participants should be in adequate physical and mental condition to safely and fully participate in hands-on activities or demonstrations, where applicable

Duration:
- Duration: 2 Weeks (Monday–Friday)
Daily Core Class Time: 9:00AM – 1:00PM - Optional Skills Integration Time: 2:00PM – 4:00PM on select days.
*Skill Integration Time A dedicated portion of the day set aside for integrating newly acquired techniques through personal or collaborative artistic techniques.

Pricing:
- Deposit: $400 plus tax (non-refundable, applied toward total cost).
- Total Workshp Cost: $2,000 plus tax
- Materials Cost: A grooming kit and other essential materials are required for the course. A detailed list of required items will be provided upon registration.

Bathing & Drying Like a Pro
- Choosing shampoos and conditioners tailored to different coat types and skin sensitivities.
- Mastering proper bathing techniques for a thorough yet stress-free experience.
- Handling techniques for dogs that dislike water—methods to ensure a calm bath time.
- Comparing blow drying vs. towel drying—best practices based on breed and coat type.
- Understanding the role of water temperature, pressure, and drying angles in efficient grooming.
Nail & Paw Care
- Mastering safe nail trimming techniques to prevent over-cutting, bleeding, or discomfort.
- Understanding when to use nail grinders versus clippers for different dog breeds.
- Paw pad maintenance: moisturizing, inspecting, and preventing cracks or irritation.
- Recognizing and treating common paw issues such as yeast infections, interdigital cysts, and abrasions.
- Best practices for trimming excess hair between paw pads to enhance mobility and hygiene.
Ear & Eye Care Essentials
- Proper ear-cleaning techniques to prevent infections and wax buildup.
Identifying signs of ear mites, bacterial infections, or allergies. - Managing tear stains safely—best methods for light-colored and brachycephalic breeds.
- Grooming around the eyes and face with precision for improved hygiene and pet comfort.
- Using appropriate tools to prevent irritation while maintaining breed-specific aesthetics.
Specialized Trimming & Styling
- Mastering breed-specific trims and professional pet styling techniques.
- Introduction to hand-scissoring for precise and polished finishing touches.

They do not provide participants with the full range of skills and knowledge necessary for obtaining employment or self-employment as Dog Groomers;
- Upon completion of our workshop programs, The Academy does not issue credentials or skills certificates;
- The cost of the workshops does not include materials and tools. A Material Kit can be purchased from Puppy Love or any Pet Supply or Specialized Grooming Stores.
